Telnyx supports having multiple connections from the same IP that can be differentiated by a technical prefix. This will allow for calls to be routed successfully to your Telnyx BYOT connection.

Requirement

  • Access to your Telnyx account.

  1. Log into your Telnyx account
  2. Navigate to Voice > SIP Trunking

  3. Locate the desired connection that will be updated with the tech prefix, and press the edit button for Basic Options on the right hand side.

  4. Under the SIP Connection Type section, locate the Outbound settings and click on Expert IP Settings to reveal additional settings.

  5. Once clicked, you should now see the option to enter a Tech Prefix.

  6. Enter the last 4 digits of the territory identifier as the tech prefix ie. 1234. The territory identifier is in the format of xxxxx.service, where you will be using the last 4 digits of xxxxx
NOTE: Telnyx only supports a 4 digit technical prefix, you will be unable to save the changes if it is more or less than 4 digits.

  7. Click Save All Changes
