Intended Audience: All Users

This article goes over the different ways calls can be transferred on Yealink T5x devices

 

Transferring Calls 

There are three transfer options. Blind, Semi Attended and Attended.


Performing a Blind Transfer

  1. Press the TRANSFER key.
  2. Perform one of these options
    1. Enter the destination number/extension
    2. Select a BLF key
    3. Select Directory and choose the contact from the Directory
  3. Press the BTransfer key (Blind Transfer)

Performing a Semi-Attended/Attended Transfer

  1. Press the TRANSFER key
  2. Perform one of these options
    1.  A enter the destination number/extension
    2. Select a BLF key
    3. Select Directory and choose the contact from the Directory
  3. Press OK or SEND
  4. Use the following action
    1. For semi-attended transfer, when you hear the ring tone press the TRANSFER key
    2. For attended transfer, when you hear the person answer, tell them about the transfer and press the TRANSFER key

Perform a Transfer with a Transfer Key

Set a Transfer Key

You can set a Line Key as a Transfer key to a specific destination.
Procedure.

  1. Go to Menu > Features > DSS Key
  2. Select the desired line key
  3. Select Key Event from the Type field
  4. Select Transfer from the Key Type field
  5. Do one of the following
    1. (Optional) Enter the string of characters that will appear on the phone screen in the Label field
    2. Enter the number you want to transfer the call to in the Value field
    3. On the T57W phones, select, and then select the desired contact 
  6. Click SAVE

Perform a Blind Transfer with a Transfer Key

After you have set a Transfer Key with a specific contact, you can perform a Blind Transfer by using it.

Note: Confirm that the Transfer Mode has been set to perform a Blind Transfer

  1. Press the Transfer Key during a call.
    1. The call is transferred to the contact assigned to the Transfer Key

Perform a Semi/Attended Transfer with a Transfer Key

After setting a Transfer Key with a specific contact, you can perform a Semi/Attended Transfer

Note: Confirm that the Transfer Mode has been set to perform an Attended Transfer

  1. Press the Transfer Key during a call
    1. A call is placed to the assigned contact
  2. Wait until you hear the ring or until the contact answers the call
  3. Press the Transfer Key again
    1. The call is transferred to the contact assigned to the Transfer Key

Set the Transfer Mode for a Transfer Key

  1. Press the "Menu" button on your Yealink phone.
  2. Use the navigation keys to scroll to the "Settings" option and press the "OK" button.
  3. Navigate to "Preferences" and select it.
  4. Look for an option related to the transfer mode setting. It might be listed as "Transfer Mode" or similar.
  5. You will usually have options like "Blind Transfer" or "Attended Transfer." Use the navigation keys to choose your preferred transfer method.
  6. After selecting your preferred option, make sure to save the changes before exiting the menu.
  7. After configuration, test the transfer key to ensure it operates using the selected transfer mode.

Note: Please refer to the user manual specific to the Yealink T5x series for further details or adjustments, as menu options might vary slightly depending on the software version. If you have access to the web interface of the phone, changes can also be made there under the appropriate settings.
