The following article outlines how to setup the Yealink AX83H WiFi IP Phone out of the box.

Requirements

  • Access to Yealink AX83H WiFi IP Phone
  • (Optional) Smart Phone Device with Camera
  • SSID & Password for the local WiFi network that the AX83H will be connected to.

Setting up the AX83H

Once you open the box of the AX83H, you will need to install the battery into the handset. From there, you will need to get the power cable & base for the handset. Plug the power cable into the wall and the base, and then you can set the handset in the base to begin charging.

If and when the device has battery life, we can continue with the setup.

  1. Initially, the phone asks for a Language. English is the top selection; press Next.
  2. The next screen will give you 2 options for Wi-Fi:
    1. Quick Connect
    2. Available Networks
  3. If you select Quick Connect, it will display a QR code, which can be scanned by a smartphone to connect to the handset.
    1. After scanning the QR code, after a few seconds, a portal will pop up prompting you to input the SSID & Password of the WiFi network to connect the handset to WiFi. Like below:
  4. If you select Available Networks, it will populate a list of available nearby WiFi networks. This can be slightly more difficult as you will need to input the Password using T9 (text on 9 keys)
  5. Either one of these will connect the device to the WiFi, and then you can access the Web GUI by inputting the IP address of the device and following this doc for provisioning.
