Polycom: Switching VVX Phones from Teams/Lync to Generic SIP

The following article will show you how to perform the action of adjusting your Polycom Teams phone from Teams/Lync to Open SIP/Generic.
Requirements
- Physical Access to the Device
Note: This applies only to VVX series devices, including the VVX101, VVX201, VVX300, VVX301, VVX311, VVX400, VVX401, VVX410, VVX411, VVX500, VVX501, VVX600, VVX601.
How to Switch from Teams/Lync to Generic SIP
Access Base Profile
- On the phone, press the Home button.
- Navigate to Settings → Advanced.

Enter the Admin password (default:

, unless changed).
Change the Base Profile
- Go to Administration Settings → Network Configuration → Base Profile.
- Select Generic instead of Lync.
- Press Save/Enter to confirm.
- The phone will reboot automatically.
Verify Mode
- After reboot, the phone should start in Generic SIP mode.
- You can now provision or register the device with OIT.
