Intended Audience: Whitelabel Partner and Above

The following article will show you how to perform the action of adjusting your Polycom Teams phone from Teams/Lync to Open SIP/Generic.

 

Requirements

  • Physical Access to the Device

Note: This applies only to VVX series devices, including the VVX101, VVX201, VVX300, VVX301, VVX311, VVX400, VVX401, VVX410, VVX411, VVX500, VVX501, VVX600, VVX601.

 

How to Switch from Teams/Lync to Generic SIP

Access Base Profile

  1. On the phone, press the Home button. 
  2. Navigate to Settings → Advanced. 
  3. Enter the Admin password (default: 456, unless changed). 

Change the Base Profile

  1. Go to Administration Settings → Network Configuration → Base Profile. 
  2. Select Generic instead of Lync. 
  3. Press Save/Enter to confirm. 
    1. The phone will reboot automatically.

Verify Mode

  • After reboot, the phone should start in Generic SIP mode. 
  • You can now provision or register the device with OIT.
