How to move a Mobile-X esim to a new Phone.

Scope

Intended Audience: CSE or Higher Technicians

This article outlines steps to move an esim from one phone to another. Both Android and iPhone processes will be covered. 

 

Requirements

  • Access to Mobile-X webgui
 

Delete the esim from iPhone

  1. Delete the esim from the old iPhone.
    NOTE: This step must be done first. 
    1. On the existing device, please ensure Wifi is enabled.
    2. Go to settings > cellular > delete the eSIM 

Add the esim to the new iPhone

  1. Once the esim has been removed from the old iPhone you can now follow steps 10 and 11 in this KB https://voipdocs.helpjuice.com/mobile-x/create-mobile-x-subscribers. 
    1. Get the new QR code. 
  2. Provide the QR code to the client and have them follow the iPhone setup section of this KB - https://voipdocs.helpjuice.com/mobile-x/set-up-your-phone-with-mobile-x.
     

Delete the esim from Android

  1. Delete the esim from the old Android. 
    Note: This step must be done first. 
    1. On the existing device, please ensure Wifi is enabled.
    2. Go to settings > connections > SIM Manager > Delete the eSIM

Add the esim to the new Android

  1. Once the esim has been removed from the old Android you can now follow steps 10 and 11 in this KB https://voipdocs.helpjuice.com/mobile-x/create-mobile-x-subscribers. 
    1. Get the new QR code. 
  2. Provide the QR code to the client and have them follow the Android setup section of this KB - https://voipdocs.helpjuice.com/mobile-x/set-up-your-phone-with-mobile-x.
