Grandstream: Multicast Paging Setup

Configure Paging Sender via Override Configure Paging Sender via Web GUI Configure Paging Receiver via Override Configure Paging Receiver via Web GUI

Scope:

The following steps will allow you to set up Multicast Paging on both the sender and receiver on Grandstream phones. This will enable to you speak to receivers.

 

Requirements:

  • Access to the Grandstream Phone's UI
  • Access to the Manager Portal 
 

 

Configure Paging Sender via Override

  1. Log onto the Manager Portal
  2. Go to Inventory > Phone Hardware
  3. Click Edit for the device you would like to setup
  4. Go to Advanced > Overrides and enter the following:
    NOTE: These overrides are for line key 3 if you would like to add this on another key add 2 to every Pcode for each line key up EX: P1369, P1370, P1471, and P1472 for line key 4

  1. Click Save and Resync


Configure Paging Sender via Web GUI

  1. Obtain the IP address of the phone and log onto the Web GUI
  2. Go to Settings > Programmable Keys > Virtual Multi-Purpose Keys
  3. Hit Edit VPK on the key you would like to configure paging on
  4. Modify each option as follows:
    • Mode: Change it to Multicast Paging
    • Accounts: Leave it as Account 1.
    • Description: Change to the name of the page ex: Page All, Page Tech.
    • Value: Change this to 224.0.1.116:5001 or to another IP address that you would like to use for paging.
  5. Click on Save and the phone should get the new configuration automatically.

Configure Paging Receiver via Override

  1. Log onto the Manager Portal
  2. Go to Inventory > Phone Hardware
  3. Click Edit for the device you would like to setup
  4. Go to Advanced > Overrides and enter the following:
    NOTE: These overrides are to configure multicast listening priority 1, if you would like to configure the phone to listen for multiple pages, add 2 to the Pcode for each priority down EX: P1571 AND P1572 for priority

  1. Click Save and Resync

Configure Paging Receiver via Web GUI

  1. Obtain the IP address of the phone and log onto the Web GUI
  2. Go to Settings > Multicast Paging
  3. Modify each option as follows:
    • Listening Address: Change it to 224.0.1.116:5001 or another IP address you would like to use for paging
    • Label: Change it to the name of the page ex: Page All, Page Sales
  4. Click on Save and Apply and the phone will be configured to receive pages from the multicast paging IP.
