Scope

Intended Audience: Client or T1 or higher

The following steps will allow you to manually provision a Polycom desk phone via Phone UI. For TLS Provisioning visit HTTP Provisioning over TLS

Requirements

  • Access to the phone or web GUI
  • It is highly recommended to Factory Reset the handset before provisioning
  • Phone's MAC address must have already been entered in the Manage Portal
  • Global Username and Password provided by support.

NOTE: On older firmware versions of Polycom phones, you must complete the changes via the handset

Configure Provisioning Server from Handset

  1. From the phone press the Menu button
  2. Type in the password. Default is admin/456
  3. Navigate to Admin Settings > Network Configuration > Server menu

ndp.ucaasnetwork.com/cfg

  3. The phone should reboot and pull the new configuration

Configure Provisioning Server from Web GUI

  7. Using any web browser navigate to the IP address of the phone from the previous step
  8. The default login is admin/456
  9. Click Settings then Provisioning from the navigation bar
  10. Select Server type: HTTP
  11. In Server Address enter the provisioning URL for your domain and click Confirm
ndp.ucaasnetwork.com/cfg
  1. Server User and Server Password fields will use the Global Username and Password to authenticate with the configuration server.
  2. Click Save
  3. At next popup click Yes

  4. The phone should reboot and pull the new configuration

Troubleshooting

If your phone does not provision with the v2 address try using 129.213.10.212/cfg.  If you server type is left to ftp, then ensure that server address is appended with http://ndp.ucaasnetwork.com/cfg unless you are using HTTP over TLS.

In some instances, we have seen Polycom's not get past a Windows DNS server if the Windows DNS server is the Phone's primary DNS. In these instances, we recommend setting the phone onto a Phone VLAN with the DNS of Primary: 8.8.8.8 and Secondary: 8.8.4.4.
